What is Vocational Services?
Vocational Services assists people in fulfilling their work and/or employment goals. A variety of supports and experiences are provided in a range of settings from sheltered workshops to work experience. We are committed to assisting individuals and their families in establishing attainable vocational goals and developing and implementing a plan to realize these goals.
Who is it for?
Vocational Service is available to people with a developmental disability 18 years of age or older, who are interested in realizing a work or employment opportunity.
How does Vocational Services work?
Referrals are received through the school to work programs or through the Developmental Services Access Centre. Generally, although there are exceptions, individuals would initially participate in an evaluation process at our sheltered workshop. We do this in an effort to get to know one another and to gain information in order to develop a vocational plan. Once the assessment period is over, plans would be implemented to begin the work and employment opportunities.
